Tradition & Innovation
Lilium unites two cabinets into a unique fusion of style and technology. This endeavor captures Sonus faber's heritage while embracing groundbreaking innovations by our Research and Development team. Lilium harmonizes two distinct acoustic chambers to deliver both powerful low frequencies as well as the heart of the sound spectrum in pristine fashion.
Contrast & Complement
The lyre-shaped front cabinet, designed for forward sound emission, ensures structural strength and efficient energy management. Meanwhile, the rear cabinet, designed for infra-low frequencies, eliminates resonance with strategic reinforcements. Lilium's front and rear cabinets use different materials – finely grained hard walnut wood for the front and soft leather for the rear - a design that reinforces the duality of the speaker’s engineering philosophy.
The Shape of Natural Sound
Deriving its name from the Latin word for “lily”, Lilium’s design seamlessly merges two distinct identities within a classical "lyre" silhouette. This synthesis of natural shapes exudes grace and harmony. Its top plate, made of tempered glass, mirrors the lily's form, revealing the passive radiator beneath. Infra-low frequencies travel through the pavement for optimal sound dispersion, and frequency modulation fine-tunes the passive radiator's movement.
Lyre Shape
The dual "waved" curvature of the "lyre" shape in the front cabinet enhances structural strength for optimal energy management in forward sound emission.
Rear Cabinet
The rear cabinet, dedicated to infra-low frequencies, is designed with sophisticated reinforcing structures, strategically placed within the enclosure to eliminate resonances and unwanted interference.
Contrasting Materials
The separation between Lilium’s two cabinets is visually enhanced by the use of contrasting materials: fine-grained walnut wood in the front and soft leather in the rear enclosure.
Infra-Woofer
The infra-woofer operates in "P.Z.I." (Pressure Zone Interface) acoustic conditions, creating a ground effect for optimal interaction with the environment and infra-low frequencies. The output level can be adjusted with the "Deep Low Control" for seamless speaker integration in each unique environment.
